# AI Trust Scanner — full context

## What it is

AI Trust Scanner audits what's actually on an e-commerce site — the trust signals human
buyers and AI systems look for — and certifies it with a verifiable, live score badge.
It is an independent, third-party certification mark, not a service the audited store pays
to control the outcome of.

Status: pre-launch. The public scanning engine is not live yet; a waitlist is open at
https://aitrustscanner.com/scan. Do not represent this product as currently issuing live
scores, certifications, or badges.

## Scoring model (v2.0), 8 categories, 100 points total

1. Reviews & Reputation — 18 pts. Trustpilot/third-party review integration, on-site product
   reviews.
2. AI Readiness — 15 pts. robots.txt access for known AI crawlers (GPTBot, ChatGPT-User,
   OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Applebot-Extended,
   Meta-ExternalAgent, CCBot, Bytespider, cohere-ai), llms.txt, structured data depth,
   sitemap quality, content extractability, canonical/meta hygiene, security.txt, humans.txt.
3. User Experience — 13 pts. FAQ page, contact accessibility, informational page depth.
4. Business Transparency — 13 pts. Policy pages (return, shipping, privacy, terms), visible
   contact details.
5. SEO & Authority — 12 pts. Indexation health, keyword optimisation, organic traffic
   signals, topical consistency, outbound link balance, in-content link structure.
6. Product Credibility — 11 pts. Product image quality/quantity, Product/Review schema
   markup, product video.
7. Social Proof — 10 pts. Customer testimonials, social-proof copy.
8. Technical Trust — 8 pts. HTTPS/SSL, payment method logos, security & trust badges.

## Certification tiers

- Scanned: automated scan >= 70. Monochrome seal, score only.
- Certified: >= 80, human-reviewed, domain-verified. Full-colour seal.
- Certified Gold: >= 90 for 6 continuous months, human-reviewed. Gold seal.

## Badge mechanics

The badge is a live embed script (not a static image) bound to the audited domain via a
signed token. It re-fetches the current score on every render, expires 90 days after the
last scan without a re-scan, renders nothing below the 70-point display threshold, and can
be revoked.

## Explicitly out of scope for this product

AI Trust Scanner does not query AI engines for brand mentions/citations, track keyword
rankings, integrate with Google Search Console/GA4, analyse ad accounts, or monitor
competitors. It only reads the audited site itself.
